Calendar Planner reliability and admin improvements

Calendar Planner reliability and admin improvements

A batch of Calendar Planner updates focused on reliability, clearer licensing behaviour, and a smoother administrator experience: Dashboard Tile timezone handling, licensing recovery after updates, sovereign-cloud support, and refinements to the new ICS export.

9 June 2026

We have released a set of Calendar Planner updates focused on reliability, clearer licensing behaviour, and a smoother administrator experience. Customer reports helped identify the issues this cycle resolved — thank you to everyone who shared observations and examples.

Dashboard Tile uses the SharePoint site timezone more reliably

The Dashboard Tile now honours the SharePoint site’s configured timezone more reliably, including cases where regional timezone bias information is unavailable. Event times now display consistently with the site calendar instead of shifting based on the user’s browser timezone.

Licensing handles updates and transient checks more gracefully

Licensing reliability has been improved across Calendar Planner:

  • Licensed users no longer appear unlicensed after an update
  • Paid users are handled gracefully during transient licensing checks
  • Dashboard Tile access reflects the correct Enterprise-tier entitlement

Security and resilience

Several security and resilience improvements ship in this cycle:

  • Tighter SharePoint host validation to harden the licensing surface
  • Sovereign and government cloud domain support — Calendar Planner works across more Microsoft 365 cloud environments
  • Cleaner user-facing error messages so the cause of any failure is clearer
  • Hardened HTML entity handling for safer rendering of calendar content

ICS export refinements

The ICS export button introduced in the previous release has been refined:

  • The export button is now hidden by default, with a property-pane toggle to enable it — administrators have more control over whether export appears in the calendar toolbar
  • Rich-text descriptions in exported .ics files now preserve line breaks and paragraph separators more accurately

What to do

If you experienced any of the issues covered above, they should now be resolved. Update to the latest version of Calendar Planner to pick up the fixes and improvements.

Thank you again to everyone who shared feedback. A pleasant, dependable planning experience is the goal, and customer input is what keeps Calendar Planner improving against the reality of live Microsoft 365 environments.
